New manager – how to succeed

2-month practical leadership development course

Focus and purpose

In spring 2025, we collaborated with Business LF to offer a half-day course entitled: New manager – how to succeed. We are now following up on this by offering new managers the opportunity to delve deeper and work in a more practical and hands-on way with the managerial role and personal development in a course consisting of four modules. We are starting new teams on an ongoing basis.
The course will place special emphasis on you as a new manager, including

Module content

What constitutes good leadership now and in the future? What does it mean to be promoted to a leadership position? What is your role, your responsibilities, your tasks, and your goals? What kind of impression would you like to leave behind, both as a leader and as a person? What does this require in terms of personal, professional, and social skills? We will cover your first 100 days as a new manager, your personal plan, where you are today, and what you would like to work on next time in module 2.
What is personal leadership? What does it mean to lead based on your own values, strengths, weaknesses, and authenticity? How do you lead the way as a manager and create a workplace where your employees both perform well and feel seen, heard, and valued as human beings? And what does this mean for attracting and retaining employees? Follow-up on your personal plan, sparring agreements regarding your training tasks for module 3.
We delve into the theory behind the Focus model and the four personality types, their strengths and challenges in collaboration, and we train you as a leader and with your leadership profile to meet, lead, and motivate different types of employees using different ways of communicating. We will also discuss how you can create motivation, prevent dissatisfaction, and get your employees to take responsibility for the goals set for both the team and the individual.
Most people perceive conflict as something unpleasant or negative, but in fact, conflict can have positive effects and can be dangerous to avoid. Conflict handled constructively can be a source for discovering challenges, solving problems, creating improvements, and developing new, creative solutions. Your ability to handle conflicts not only affects your team's results, it also strengthens relationships and helps to retain important employees to the team and the workplace. In addition to working with conflict management, we also touch on "the difficult conversation."

Follow-up and summary of your personal plan and your goals going forward.
